Cinderella
His topic is “Action research in diary writing.”
Report: He read a paper about the effect of diary writing at JHS. The professors did a before/after GTEC test.
His problem is that he will teach two classes for three weeks and it is too short to measure the improvement of writing skills. He also is not sure how to assess student writing skills. James’ suggestion is to measure fluency, accuracy, and complexity in before and after tests.
Cinderella said that he wants to show what he learned about each student. James made a suggestion to recall what he remembers about each student after the treatment and then compare what he recalled to what they wrote in the diary. This is an example of reflexivity in research.
