Walking the Kitayama Mountain Trail

We walked the Kitayama Trail in Morioka on June 4, 2025. Here is what we learned from this experience:

  • Yuiko: The most important thing in my life is health. I had not been exercising every day and I realized the lack of my strength after walking. I learned not to bring books with me when I walk in the mountains. It’s too heavy.
  • Hiroki: I realized that there is a lot I do not know about Morioka. I learned that there are a lot of common places for Morioka people such as “Chuou Kouminkan”.
  • Hiroyuki: I realized that walking is an interesting activity. I usually go to the gym and run inside. I don’t usually walk. After this trail, I began to walk around my house in Hanamaki.
  • Kai Kai: Walking 10km was not as hard as I expected. So, I realized that it is important to try everything; don’t be shy!
  • Yura Yura: It was really hard for me to walk 10km. I gave my best effort. I felt filfilled because I learned that I could do it!
  • Jamie: I learned that walking is harder than I thought. The next day my calves were sore! I learned that walking uses different muscles than running. I also learned that students in my kenkyuushitsu are strong!
