The listening the process
- Prepare the appropriate frame: mentally prepare for listening to the L2.
- Change the sounds into words.
- Get the meaning from the words.
- Translate into Japanese(?)
How to improve listening skills
- It is more important for learners to improve the other three skills: reading, writing, and speaking. Learners can recognize how fast people speak by following the text.
- Learners should practice understanding the meaning in the moment they are listening. Students follow the text while listening to a CD.
- Know a wide variety of vocabulary

Researchers classify the type of interaction between speakers and listeners
- Speakers and listeners join the conversation equally.
- One person speaks in a group and the others listen (listeners can say something)
- In the class, the speakers says what they want to say. The listeners can ask a question but it is not always easy.
