  • Japanese sounds can be written in Hiragana. English sounds are written with letters. How are Japanese and English sounds different?
  • Do you see English words when you walk around town? If so, what words have you seen?

Blue book

The type of teaching approach that McGuinness believes is best is one which includes phoneme identification and sequencing (segmenting, blending, stretching). She recommends a linguistics phonics approach which starts with sounds and then goes to letters.
