November 21: Tasks for the vagabonds

Our tasks today:

1. Complete Nao-chan’s test/ questionnaire
2. Organize Momo(s introduction
3. Work on Yukiya’s categories.
   • RQ: How to develop students’ ICC through a video conferencing system.
   • James’ advice: Compare students’ questionnaire responses with their talk in the conference.
4. Look at Hiyori’s test
5. Mr. Inaba
   • Discovery: To have a dream you have to be aware of your own shortcomings.
   • James’ advise: Do an interview survey!

For the mid-term presentation, make a handout of 1 to two pages (double sided). You will have 5 to 7 minutes to speak and 3 to 5 minutes of question and answer. It should include the following.

1. Your introduction
   • What are you investigating?
   • Why are you investigating it?
2. Literature review
   • What books or papers have you read related to your area? (Please introduce at least two.)
   • What are your research questions?
3. Methodology
   • How will you answer your research questions?
     • Who are your participants?
     • What kind of data will you gather?
     • When will you gather the data?
4. Findings
   • What are your results so far?
5. Discussion
   • What are the implications of your results?
6. Further work
   • What kind of work do you still have remaining?
7. References
   • Provide a list of some of your references.
