Why did the Q2 “What are they doing?” is the lowest contact answer? How do you think what is the cause?

I can understand why the topic of “speaking” in the course of study is divided “Speaking (presentation)” and “Speaking (communication)”. Your research topic is good for Japanese students.

When this research shows any result, I think it is very helpful for teachers because they usually have students do smalltalk but they don’t know how to do for good communication.

  • “Interaction” might be a better word than “communication.”
  • I think that “Small Talk” is a very good thing to research. It plays an important role in students’ language learning.
  • I think it will be VERY important to find many different 実践例 of small talk to be able to answer your research questions. It is also possible to interview teachers about how they do Small Talk.

I often hear that small talk is important. I think that the effect and usefulness of the activity will change depending on how to incorporate it concretely and how to develop the activity according to the place. I wanted to know what effective small talk is.
